The biggest literary event outside the big cities is in the heart of Val d’Orcia!
Since 2019, the Posta Letteraria, the Val d’Orcia International Book Festival, has been one of the most eagerly awaited cultural events in Tuscany and Italy. Celebrating the written and spoken word, the multidisciplinary programme intertwines literature, journalism, philosophy, science and current affairs through meetings, dialogues and debates between authors, intellectuals and the public.
Taking place on the first weekend of July, the festival is held in the romantic-esoteric garden of Bosco Isabella in Radicofani. Dating back to the early 1900s and already catalogued as a Monumental Garden, it offers a unique setting for conversations. This evocative location, where nature and history converge, ensures that every encounter is an immersive experience.
Over the years, the Posta Letteraria has played host to some of the most influential figures in the cultural sphere, including Corrado Augias, Dacia Maraini, Nicola Gratteri, Marco Damilano, Domenico Starnone, Antonio Padellaro, Michele Serra, Sergio Staino, Alberto Asor Rosa, Rino Rappuoli and Lisa Ginzburg. The quality of the talks and the festival’s ability to attract an ever-growing audience have made it a point of reference for readers, authors and enthusiasts, who fill the streets of Radicofani on the first weekend of July.
From 2024 onwards, the Posta Letteraria OFF will be launched: a series of meetings and in-depth discussions dedicated to notable figures in journalism and literature. This new addition is designed to maintain the festival’s visibility throughout the year.
Admission is free, making this an unmissable opportunity to experience culture and be captivated by the timeless landscape of the Val d’Orcia.
