The event that brings opera to Pienza through young opera talent.
Opera Pienza represents a springboard for the promotion of young opera singers. The City of Pienza’s project provides opportunities for new musical talents to make themselves known through competitions, auditions, training courses and prize concerts.
Opera Pienza benefits from the Artistic Direction of mezzo-soprano Monica Faralli and the support of Mrs. Adua Veroni Pavarotti. The flagship of Opera Pienza is the now proven “Benvenuto Franci” International Competition for Opera Singers, which in previous editions gave more than 700 singers from more than 30 countries around the world the chance to perform in front of the jury chaired by Adua Veroni Pavarotti and some of the most important artists on the international opera scene.
Opera Pienza also has the ambitious project of establishing a workshop aimed at staging an opera, to be held outdoors in one of the fantastic settings offered by that jewel of the Renaissance that is the City of Pienza, so that it can take root and spread in the network formed by the circuit of opera competitions.
