Car
Those who prefer to travel by car can take advantage of car rental services found in all major cities and airports. Those who also want to be environmentally conscious and move around in comfort should know that there are several cities in Tuscany where you can take advantage of a car sharing service with electric cars. The advantage offered by some of these companies is the ability to enter limited traffic zones (ZTL) and free parking in certain spaces.
People with disabilities who have supporting documentation should know that they can freely access the LTZs, which are very common in Tuscany especially in historic city centers.
Cab
If you want to use cabs to get around, keep in mind that in Tuscany, as in the rest of Italy, you can only board the vehicle in dedicated areas or following a call. In fact, cabs, which must always be white, cannot be stopped on the street.
Bicycle
To get around in an environmentally friendly way and have the opportunity to better appreciate the travel route, bicycles are also an alternative.
They range from the need to use means more suitable for uphill or country roads, to comfortable e-bikes useful in the city, where it is common to find bike-sharing opportunities.
To find out the regulations for transporting one’s bike on public transport, consult the official websites of Trenitalia and Gest-tramvia.
