Festival of typical products of Vivo d’Orcia
Totally immersed in chestnut forests at an average altitude of 930 meters above sea level, Vivo d’Orcia is a village in the municipality of Castiglione d’Orcia renowned for its local products, porcini mushrooms and chestnuts. This is why a festival is organized for all visitors to enjoy the best the area has to offer. The Pro Loco of Vivo d’Orcia is organizing the event, which offers, along with a delicious porcini menu, some excellent roasted chestnuts and mulled wine that can be enjoyed while wandering around the various stands, where local products can be purchased.
In addition to the food portion of the festival program, guided tours along hiking trails, a mycological exhibition, historical reenactments and folk music are included in the festival program. Finally, an event not to be missed is the Palio del Boscaiolo, which takes place on the last Sunday.
